Offline Marketing is an important element to growing your business. Let’s face it, you cannot grow a business using just a computer with an Internet connection. Most of us have found that using the Internet to prospect and pre-qualify people is extremely efficient, but at some point you obviously need to form a personal relationship with your prospect. Before we talk about some strategies for offline marketing, I must tell you that the most influential course I ever bought in regards to communicating with prospects was Black Belt Recruiting. Before you take one step further in learning how to market offline, at the very least watch this free 1 hour interview with recruiting giants Mike Dillard & Mark Wiesser.
Here are some excellent offline building strategies that work. The key is to use any system that has an element of pre-qualification. There are 2 killers in a marketing business such as this:
- Talking to people who don’t care about your message
- Trying to convince people to join your business when they aren’t looking
Why are they killers? 3 reasons:
- If they don’t care about your message, you will face massive rejection and it WILL discourage you in the beginning of your career. It’s simple human nature. When people reject us, it makes us feel bad. Especially when we are new and we haven’t built up our “armor”.
- Second, it’s extremely inefficient. Why would you want to try to sell a steak dinner to a vegetarian?
- Third, if you use your fantastic powers of persuasion to “sell” someone on personal business ownership who isn’t cut out for it, they will do nothing.
I tend to ask a lot of questions of people when they are discussing business with me. I want to know that they have the possibility of success prior to them joining my business. If you were a CEO, would you hire a Director of Marketing who had never done any marketing work in their life?
So, here is a great grouping of trainings that you can use in your offline marketing efforts.
